Stores Operative

Our client based in Dublin 24, as a result of continued growth and increased activity, are seeking an experienced Yard / Stores Operative to join their team. This is a key operational position, responsible for ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of the yard and stores function. The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining stock availability, managing incoming and outgoing materials, preparing equipment and supporting operational teams across the business.

Role Requirements

• The Yard Operatives will manage the day-to-day running and organisation of the yard and stores.
• Receive, check, load and unload incoming deliveries.
• Maintain accurate stock levels, records and inventory movements.
• Pick, prepare and issue materials, tools and equipment to operational teams.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised yard and stores environment.
• Carry out regular stock checks and assist with stocktaking.
• Identify and report damaged, missing or incorrect materials.
• Liaise with suppliers, delivery drivers and internal teams.
• Load company vehicles and ensure materials are safely secured.
• Maintain control of tools, plant and company equipment.
• Operate forklifts and other materials-handling equipment where trained and authorised.

Candidate Requirements

• The Yard Operative must have three years’ experience in a yard, stores, warehouse, logistics or materials-handling environment.
• Strong practical, organisational and stock-control skills.
• Experience receiving, checking, storing and issuing materials or equipment.
• Good attention to detail and accurate record-keeping ability.
• Proactive approach with a strong work ethic.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong awareness of health & safety requirements.
• Reliable, punctual and physically capable of working in a hands-on environment.
• Valid forklift licence highly desirable.
